How to Move Telegram to a New Phone Without Losing Your Chats

No backups, no cables, no data-transfer apps: almost everything in Telegram lives in the cloud and arrives on the new device the moment you sign in. There are only a few exceptions — but they're worth knowing in advance, because one of them is permanent.

The short answer

Install Telegram on the new phone, enter your number, confirm with the login code and, if two-step verification is on, enter your cloud password. Chats, channels, groups, files and settings appear on their own.
